The bookmark method is used to set target scores for certification exams. Each question within a domain is ranked from easiest to hardest. Subject matter experts determine at which question a minimally qualified learner would have less than a 67% chance of answering correctly. This question's difficulty level is then used as the target score for that domain. The final target score for a domain is the average of all target scores from the experts. Finally, to determine the exam's target score, we average all individual domain scores.
